Entrevista exclusiva do All Time Low Brasil com Alex Gaskarth

All Time Low Brazil exclusive interview with: Alex Gaskarth

1-We know that the next album is already a work in progress. Could you tell us anything about it, like if you plan to invite some other artist (e.g. Mark Hoppus, Demi Lovato) to contribute to it?
We might have a few suprises up our sleeves but you’ll have to wait and see! Yea we’ve been tracking the record and it’s coming together really well and we are really excited for you all to hear it. You can go check out our website for some In-Studio Video interview in which you can get a sneak peek of some of the tracks!

2- Even though Painting Flowers was a song written specifically to Almost Alice’s soundtrack, some fans are anxious to know if your next record will follow the same path of that song. Is there anything you can tell us about the way you want the new record to sound like?
Painting Flowers was obviously a different feel than what we have previously recorded but it just felt right for the soundtrack and was certainly fun to have a song that was a different progression from what our songs typically sound like. Our new record will be more similar to our previous releases though, that was just a fun experimentation.

3- How was the experience of shooting for the DVD? We watched the preview and there’s a lot of private parts of you showing up there – do you guys always do that or was it just for the cameras? How did you manage to rate the DVD as “G” if it contents lots of scenes including your private parts?
The show in NYC where the dvd was filmed was insane, it was such a crazy moment for the band to play such a huge headline show and a perfect setting for a dvd shoot. Yes our D*Cks have been known to come out from time to time, we just lose control sometimes! ha

4- Alex, we know you’re a big Lady Gaga fan, and that you’ve performed with Juliet Simms and Kate Voegele. But, if you could colaborate in a song with any singer/band totally different from ATL’s style, which one would it be and why?
That’s a great question, there are so many artists that I would love to collaborate with, maybe something like john mayer would be interesting and different from what we normally do. He’s an amazing song-writer and musician, I’d definitely suggest to check him out live if you can, he’s flawless and makes me want to stop playing ha.

5-You guys have an eclectic music taste. Which artist’s on your playlist that would make your fans stunned to know you like his/her music?
Yea I feel like you have to be open-minded and give all different kind of music a chance, especially when you’re a musician to gain influence from all areas. We dig everything from Pearl Jam to Flo-Rida!

6- Is there any song you’d really love to perform in your concerts, but you feel it’s not popular enough to make the whole crowd sing along?
We’ve actually been lucky enough that our fans are so amazing at the shows that they typically respond quite well to the sets we play, We’ve pulled out some songs from our first ep and kids still react really well.

7- Ever since “Nothing Personal” was released the numbers of ATL fans in Brazil keeps growing every day, despite the fact no record of yours was officially released here. How do you feel about having such a huge fanbase in countries where your work is not as known as it is in US?
It’s still such a surreal feeling to know that kids in another country even know our band let alone support us, it keeps it so exciting to have the opportunity to go play shows in new areas which we never dreamt we’d be able to travel let alone play a show.

8- What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear “Brazil”, and what’s the image you have of our country?
Great Soccer and Hot babes.

9- We know that you guys are planning to tour in Brazil in early 2011. What are your expectations when it comes to performing in Brazil?
Well we hope that all the kids that apparently like our band in Brazil don’t think we suck when they finally get to check out a show haha, it will be amazing to play for a whole new group of kids and in a new area where we’ve never been!

10- What do you think of the Brazilian tribute dedicated to you? Did you get to listen those bands’ original songs? And is there any other Brazilian band/singer you’ve listened to? Have you guys ever listened to Brazilian music before?
I did get a chance to listen to some of the tracks and it was awesome, definitely humbling and weird to think that there is a tribute cd towards us but still an amazing feeling. We’re not too up to date on brazilian music but hopefully you guys can show us some awesome bands/artists when we’re over there!

11- Besides paying a tribute to you, our intention with our latest project, An All Time Low Tribute, was to draw attention to some great underground bands from Brazil. Is there any underground/unsigned band you’re friends with that you think your fans should listen to?
There are a lot of up and coming artists here in America that are awesome right now and hyping it up… I’d definitely recommend a few bands… The Wonder Years, The Ready Set, Runner Runner and Man Overboard.

12 – You guys have absolutely no problem in admitting you have Blink 182 as your greatest role model, specially during the first years of ATL. And now it’s common to see loads of different bands (including in Brazil) that take you as one of their biggest influences. How does it feel, going from admirers to idols?
Yea it goes along with what I was saying earlier, it’s still such a weird/surreal feeling but definitely an honor to be thought of that way. We are stil the same kids who were in the pit moshing too Good Charlotte or Blink 182 when we were younger. It’s amazing to see Good Charlotte each night on this bamboozle road show tour were on now and remember how my mom used to drop me off at their shows as a kid.

13-Please, leave a message to all your Brazilian fans.
Thank you all so much for your support, it’s an amazing feeling to know that you guys follow our band over in Brazil and we really hope your able to come see us over there w/ Motion City Soundtrack in January.
